Ceramic Workshops in Svishtov

As part of the collaboration between the archaeological expeditions of the University of Warsaw and the Museum of History in Svishtov, we organized workshops for students and volunteers participating in this year’s excavations.

The main focus of the meeting was pottery, and the program featured three lectures:

prof. Inga Głuszek (Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń) – introduced the topic of local ceramics and their importance in archaeological research.

dr. Paulina Komar (University of Warsaw) – discussed the technology of amphora production and their significance in the study of the ancient economy.

Giuseppe Campitelli (Università degli Studi Gabriele d’Annunzio) – presented methods and the latest trends in archaeometric research.

The workshops provided an excellent opportunity to expand knowledge, exchange experiences, and gain a practical perspective on one of the most important categories of archaeological material.
